THINGS I LOVE vol.10

As I mentioned last time, in the 1990s, my closet was mostly filled with Italian brands. However, as I frequented the collections in Milan and Paris, I began to feel more and more attracted to Paris than Milan.
Marcel Lasens, Old England, Hermès main store, Charbet, L'Ecleur, J.M. Weston...the stores I always visited whenever I went to Paris were all imbued with the spirit of Paris. You will be overwhelmed by the views of historic buildings throughout the city and the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe, which are tourist attractions in Paris. No matter how many times I looked at it, I was able to feel stylish. Yes, at that time, I was 100% in the state of being an "over-the-top" person.
With that feeling in mind, I walked around Paris wearing clothes from brands like Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana, but eventually I started to feel uncomfortable wearing them. Well, it doesn't match Paris.
At that time, it was called “Cafe
de Flore and Printemps on Rue Haussmann, and often stayed at hotels around Saint-Germain on the Left Bank. However, in 1993, on my 10th stay, I woke up to my wallet being stolen on the subway. Fashionable Paris was also the Paris of thieves. After that, “Oori-san” graduated! ...I intended to. He doesn't get carried away and always takes precautions when walking around town. Recently, Japanese announcements have been heard on the subway saying, ``Please be careful of pickpockets.'' Just how many Japanese people were affected? This is an incredibly kind announcement, but in a sense it's a warning to excited Japanese people, and it's a bit embarrassing.
The 1990s was a time when I was between 25 and 35 years old. Every season, I'm influenced by the collection, and I buy and wear the latest clothes over and over again. It was a challenging time to change your hairstyle accordingly. At the same time, there were drastic changes in his private life. My father, who had been battling illness since 1986, became unconscious and seriously ill in 1995 and was hospitalized. He passed away in 1999. A son was born in 1998. In the late 1990s, I traveled overseas more than 20 times a year and was constantly in a state of jet lag.
Meanwhile, the Chinese jacket that I introduced last time was very useful because it allows you to express your individuality no matter where you wear it, and it doesn't look rude. However, when my father collapsed in 1995, I rushed to the hospital and appeared... blonde hair, silver pants, and a primary-colored sleeveless shirt. When I came back to my senses, I was furious at how excited I was. Standing by my father's side as he struggles with life and death, I feel totally out of place in a glam rock style... There's no way you can read the atmosphere. As I looked at the face of my father, who was in serious condition, I thought to myself, ``But this is what I am now.'' After such a rude and disrespectful failure, we are here now. You can also say...
My interest in fashion designers continued to rise after a night party with Tom Ford at the Park Hyatt in 1996. Around 1998, she started reporting on collections for the TV show Fashion Tsushin.
Then, in the fall of 1998, I received a call from Mika Mizutani, who was working as a stylist in Paris. Mr. Mizutani was a great mentor to me as a stylist, and someone I respected like a god. We have been in a relationship since 1992, when he cooperated with us when we shot the visual book for ``Masaki Matsushima'' in Paris. I asked my partner at the time, Satoshi Nanagusa, to take the picture, and this job was a major turning point for me. The message from Mr. Mizutani was, ``I would like you to meet Eddie-kun in Tokyo.'' He asked me to meet Hedi Slimane.
Eddie at the time was Yves Saint Laurent
Creative director of Rive Gauche's men's line. For women, Alber Elbaz was in charge. ``Saint Laurent Jeans'' was born as a licensed brand limited to Japan, and Eddie was also the director of the brand.
